About Me

I work as an integrative counsellor which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including psychodynamic, person-centred, cognitive & spiritually-attuned therapy.

My qualifications include:

  • Certificate in counselling skills for pastoral care (Lee Abbey/St John’s Nottingham)
  • Diploma in counselling (Waverley Abbey College)
  • MA in Integrative Psychotherapy (LST/Middlesex University)
  • I have a particular interest in combined depression and anxiety and the link with relationships, an area I researched for the MA Integrative Psychotherapy dissertation element.

I am a member of two professional bodies:

  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Association of Christian Counsellors

I am also registered with the BACP Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists which is accredited by the UK Professional Standards Authority for Health & Social Care.

To help you decide if I could be a good choice of counsellor for you, I share some recently received feedback…

I have received counselling support recently from Andrea and am pleased to recommend her service. I was keen to find a Christian counsellor and Andrea incorporated faith and spiritual dimensions into our conversations as led by me. She draws on broad knowledge, applying her skills with warmth and perceptiveness. I feel better equipped to recognise, understand and alter some thinking habits which have been unhelpful in my personal relationships over many years. If you are unsure whether counselling is for you, I would encourage you to give it a try.”

If you would like to know more about the way I work, please don’t hesitate to ask me about this.

I have completed post qualifying courses in

Uncovering Strengths & Building resilience with CBT, Understanding Anxiety, Stigma and Mental Health, Mindfulness, Attachment and Mental Well-being, Guided Imagery and Visualisation
